Raise a mug, play games, and heed the call of a secret pop-up performance — for some say the Epic Fest bards will sing before night falls – A DJ guides the revelry into the late hours. ✨

Festival wristbands can also be claimed at the tavern during the warm up day on Thursday.

Mighty warriors! Join us for a special warm up / pre-party at The Old Town Hall of Roskilde, built in 1884 in a classic Neo-Gothic style!

We welcome all of you to this very special place in the heart of Roskilde. Right next to the Roskilde Cathedral. The Old Town Hall of Roskilde is the place to be for all of us nerds coming together for D&D, Warhammer, Magic and generally just good vibes before Epic Fest!

We are offering a limited number of extremely affordable tickets for D&D with gamemaster presented by hydra Events.

ROSKILDE CATHEDRAL X EPIC FEST

Roskilde Cathedral and Epic Fest invite you to an epic evening at Roskilde Cathedral on Thursday, April 9, as we open the doors to a special night in the Cathedral. Everyone is invited to explore the cathedral illuminated in a variety of colours and the Night Church begins with a welcome from priest Daniella Anastasie Schilling, including candle lighting and a short reflection.

POWER METAL MEETS THE FAMOUS BAROQUE ORGAN OF ROSKILDE CATHEDRAL

The evening continues with a unique and epic musical experience, created in collaboration between Epic Fest, Max Uldahl and Roskilde Cathedral.

The organist from Roskilde Cathedral will perform a unique musical work arranged especially for the occasion, where great works from the classical tradition are interwoven with legendary Power Metal songs from bands such as: Sabaton, HammerFall, Blind Guardian, Helloween, Rhapsody of Fire and more. The result is a truly unique musical experience performed on Roskilde Cathedral’s famous Raphaëlis Organ, regarded as one of the world’s finest historic organs, with its oldest parts dating back to the 15th century.

Everyone is welcome to this Night Church evening, and admission is free. When the doors open to Night Church at Roskilde Cathedral, it is not a traditional service in the form you may know from other church services. You are welcome to wander through the illuminated cathedral, lie on a pew with a blanket, enjoy a cup of coffee in the porch, or strike up a conversation with your companions – or someone you have not yet met.

You may stay for three hours or just ten minutes – it is entirely up to you. The evening begins with a welcome, candle lighting, and a short reflection in English.

At 19.30 (7:30 PM), The organist from Roskilde Cathedral will perform the epic musical work composed for this special occasion.

Program:

7:00 PM – Doors open
7:10 PM – Welcome & Introduction to the evening + reflection
7:30 PM – Power Metal Organ-Performance (approx. 45-50 Min.)
8:30 PM – Communion for those who wish to participate
8:50 PM – Musical Organ-performance
9:00 / 9:10 PM – The evening concludes with a prayer for those who wish to participate and a blessing from Daniella Anastasie Schilling.
10:00 PM – Doors close, thank you for joining us and have a fantastic Epic Fest here in Roskilde the next two days.
